Attractions

When travel in Chengdu, you should know beforehand that most of famous attractions are located outside of the city proper. Getting close to the cute giant pandas and marvelling at the Xiling snow mountain will be interesting trip activities. If you are interested in Chinese history, you should go to Thatched Cottage of Du Fu and Wuhou Memorial Temple, which have been home to two historical figures: poet Du Fu and Chinese hero Zhuge liang. Jinli Ancient Street and Kuan & Zhai Alley are best place to taste the featured local cuisine and view Chengdu’s ancient architectures.

Chengdu is a famous cultural city with a recorded history of over 2300 years, although there is evidence that Chengdu’s human habitation dates back to 3,700 – 4,500 years ago. Since established as the capital of Ancient Shu Kingdom, the city has played an important part in Chinese history.
