On July 8th, SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE held the annual Teaching Faculty Meeting to discuss teaching events and feedback on students’ learning for last year. Directors of MIS, Finance and OM programs, 23faculty members and coordinators of the Institute attended the meeting. Yang Shilei, the Dean of the Institute, hosted the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Yang Shilei extended his sincere gratitude to all faculty members for their diligence in teaching our students. Prof. Yang Shilei also pointed out that teaching staff are the primary resource for the sustainable and high-quality development of the Institute. The Institute always maintains the concept of teacher and student-centered development, and welcomes suggestions from all staff. All problems put forward by members of faculty will be taken seriously and solved effectively. The Institute will try hard to maintain quality assurance and to aid students in their development.

At the meeting, the teachers took an active part in sharing and exchanging opinions. Course optimization, teaching  in English, course challenges, multiple teaching methods, characteristics of students, and how to engage  students in class were all popular topics of discussion. Prof. Yang Shilei gave detailed replies to each piece of advice provided by members of staff and promised to solve the problems mentioned in earnest.

Those who attended the meeting expressed the opinion that the students of SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science are a group of young people with international vision, full of vitality and innovation, and expressed their best wishes to the students in their future study and life.  Members of teaching staff present said they would welcome students to communicate with them whenever needed.
