The second " Stories of China Retold in English " competition at the university level in Southwest region of the final round successfully concluded in August, 2021. ZHAO Yongchen and GAO Mengdiof Class 2020 from SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science, respectively won the second and third prize in the selection of Southwest region in China with their wonderful speech, fluent pronunciation and intonation, smart illustration in Q&A part and good performance during talent show, which fully demonstrated the excellent demeanor of our students.

The competition is jointly organized by China Education Television and New Channel International Education Group. Since the launch of the competition in June this year, it has attracted over 100,000 contestants to participate in the primary round in China. In July and August, under the guidance of Xiaona Liu, the Director for Office of General Administration of our Institute, Yongchen Zhao and Mengdi Gao performed well in the regional round, and both won the first prize in Chengdu and won the second and third prize in the selection of Southwest region in China.

This event made the students more deeply understand the significance of carrying forward traditional culture to the world. SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science will continue to provide students with more opportunities to promote the profound traditional Chinese culture and communicate with the world.
